Care Instructions
Good clothes last longer when they are washed properly. Always check the care label on your garment first — it takes priority over general advice.
General washing
- Wash in cold water (below 30°C). Hot water fades colour and shrinks cotton.
- Turn garments inside out before washing to protect prints and surface colour.
- Use a mild detergent. Skip bleach entirely — it weakens fibres and yellows white fabric over time.
- Wash dark colours separately, especially the first two or three washes.
- Do not soak for long periods. Thirty minutes is plenty.
Drying
- Dry in shade, not direct sunlight. Strong sun fades colour quickly, and Dhaka sun is unforgiving.
- Hang shirts on a hanger to dry so they keep their shape and need less ironing.
- Avoid tumble drying on high heat. If you must, use the lowest setting.
- Do not wring garments hard — press the water out instead.
Ironing
- Iron on medium heat, inside out.
- Never iron directly over a print. Turn the garment inside out or place a thin cloth over the print.
- Keep steam away from delicate fabrics unless the label allows it.
Cotton and cotton blends
Machine wash cold, dry in shade. Expect slight shrinkage after the first wash — this is normal for natural fibres.
Polo shirts
Wash cold, dry flat or on a hanger. Do not hang by the collar, as it stretches out of shape.
Denim
Wash inside out, as rarely as you reasonably can. Cold water only, dry in shade. Frequent washing is what fades denim, not wear.
Hoodies and sweatshirts
Wash inside out in cold water. Dry flat where possible to prevent the shoulders stretching. Never wring the cuffs or hem.
Formal shirts
Wash cold on a gentle cycle. Remove collar stays before washing. Hang immediately after washing to reduce creasing.
Printed T-shirts
Always inside out, cold water, mild detergent. Never iron over the print and never tumble dry on high heat.
Storage
- Fold knitwear and T-shirts rather than hanging them — hangers stretch the shoulders.
- Hang shirts, jackets and trousers.
- Store in a dry place. In humid months, keep silica gel packets or naphthalene in your wardrobe to prevent mildew.
- Let garments air out before putting them away after wear.
